INTRODUCTION TO AIKIDO COURSE.



This course is dedicated to the development of the basic skills  necessary for the safe and satisfying Aikido practice. Ukemi (safe way of rolling and falling), breathing, grounding and centering will be at the center of the course. Students will be also introduced to the fundamentals of attacks  (grabs and strikes) and some basic techniques.

This course is designed for adults with no previous Aikido experience, however we do recommend every new students regardless of his or her prior martial arts experience to consider the course.

At the end of the course students are expected to demonstrate  confidence in their ukemi (forward and backward rolls). Successful completion of the course will allow the students to transition to the regular classes at Aikido of Modesto.

The length of the course is 6 weeks. It includes 2 one hour classes per  week - Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 pm. The price is $99  and includes tuition ($150 value), registration fee ($25 value) and a uniform ($30 value). This fee does not include student's participation in other classes. Please consider the regular membership to attend ALL the classes Aikido of Modesto offers.

The course fee is non-refundable. If you paid for the course and unable  to attend you will have an opportunity to participate in a later session.


Students will be allowed to sign-up late until the 2nd week of the course.  After that they will be asked to wait until the next session.

 In 2008 we will have 6 sessions:
 starting March 4,
 starting May 3,
 starting July 1,
 starting September 2 and
 starting November 4.
